A versatile and accomplished artist, Suzie is renowned for her ability to unveil the beauty and mystery of the natural world in new and unusual ways. From her striking landscape paintings to her mosaic sculptures of hares, Suzie applies her unique perspective and fresh approach to each one of her masterpieces.
Suzie draws inspiration from many different places; but it is the undisturbed, ancient places and vast wildernesses that are of greatest fascination to her. “When I walk through Glen Coe or along the Chiltern Ridgeway for instance, I always feel a strong sense of the past. For me it can be a very moving, enchanting and quite mystical experience. I like to incorporate those elements into my paintings.”
She also harbours a particular fondness for the Scottish Highlands, having revelled in its majestic and at times, paradoxical scenery. The “mountains against dramatic and turbulent skies, contrasted by the beautiful and tranquil serenity of the glens, rivers and lochs”—these are the kinds of stark, mystical contrasts that feature heavily in her landscape paintings and that have quickly become her signature style.
With over 20 years of experience in the art world, Suzie has established herself as artist of repute. Her work has been exhibited at the Wildlife Art Society International as well as the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art, and can be found in private collections around the globe. Today, she paints from her home in Oxfordshire, where she continues to glean inspiration from the surrounding landscape and its abundance of wildlife.
