Morgan was born in Barking, Essex in 1940. He was the son of a talented amateur painter, who claims to have learnt a lot from his father at an early age, but primarily remains self taught.
After school he took a three-year apprenticeship in mechanical engineering. Dissatisfied with his new occupation he took a course in graphic design, and entered the commercial side of the art world. Quite unexpectedly he left his job to concentrate on painting full time, which was financially unrewarding at the start. Eventually he made contact with an art dealer who bought sufficient of his works to keep him living and painting for the next four years. His strong religious beliefs and his love for art and nature led him through this difficult start, and he found support from other dealers and galleries.
Paul’s work can now be found in Bermuda, the Middle East, Ceylon, West Africa and Canada, although he naturally remains best known in Western Europe particularly in Britain and Germany.
