As we say goodbye to the last, lingering days of summer, we warmly welcome the autumn ahead. Alan Smith’s newest painting is a perfect bridge for the transition, its cheerful colours and flattened perspective echoing the playful tone of summer, while its rich, ripened fields hint at the bounty of the coming harvest. A bright and hopeful piece, ‘Patchwork Fields’ makes an uplifting addition to any contemporary collection.
Last month saw the close of our annual Clare Haley exhibition, ‘Clare Haley: Light of Yorkshire’. A smashing success by all accounts, the show was a complete sell out! But those who might have missed out need not fear; new paintings from Clare will be arriving in due course. If you would like to be notified when her new work arrives, be sure to register your interest with a member of gallery staff, who will be happy to help.
The gallery’s collection of new work this month includes paintings by Sean Durkin, Raymond Campbell, Amanda Jackson, Stephen Hawkins, Alex Hill, Alan Smith, Gordon Lees, Jay Nottingham and Terry Evans. As always, be sure to check our Recently Acquired page to see these and other new additions that may arrive throughout the month.
Finally, as we enter this last quarter of the year, we acknowledge that some might already be beginning to think about preparations for Christmas. Many of our clients have previously commissioned paintings as gifts for loved ones; so if this is something that would be of interest or you would like to find out more, please do speak with a member of gallery staff to ensure the process is started in time for a Christmas completion date.
As always, we wish you the very best of health and happiness and look forward to welcoming you to our galleries soon.
