November greets us with a brisk chill, roaring fires and the first taste of the festive season. Raymond Campbell’s newest painting has us quickly dreaming of the celebrations ahead, its rich, luxurious spread a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Paying homage to the tradition of 17th century Dutch still life paintings whilst retaining a modern sense of authenticity, ‘A Timeless Selection’ is undoubtedly a contemporary classic that will stand the test of time.
After much excitement, this month the gallery is delighted to open the annual Edward Hersey and Gordon Lees exhibition. The exhibition opens on Friday, the 15th of November and will be available to view at our York gallery and online until Sunday, the 15th of December. Considered by many to be the gallery’s most highly anticipated exhibition of the year, an early viewing is highly recommended to avoid disappointment. To celebrate the opening of the exhibition, the gallery will be serving mulled wine throughout the day on Saturday, the 15th of November. And as York’s famous Christmas Market will also be in full swing at that time, it will be a perfect day to fully immerse yourself in the warmth of the festive season.
In addition to Raymond Campbell, this month also sees the arrival of work by Sean Durkin, Gordon Lees, Amanda Jackson, Jay Nottingham, Richard Telford, Ken Hammond and Caroline Richardson. Do visit at our Recently Acquired page to view these new additions—and perhaps even get a few ideas for Christmas as well.
We wish you the best, and look forward to welcoming you to our galleries soon.
