November greets us with cosy evenings and the first taste of the festive season. Edward Hersey’s newest painting, ‘Farmyard Bustle, North Yorkshire’, seems an early Christmas present, its bright colours and mesmerising detail inducing awe and delight.
Also to arrive this month are eagerly anticipated pieces by Michael John Ashcroft, Gordon Lees and Raymond Campbell to name but a few. Do take a look at our Recently Acquired page to view the gallery’s newest additions, and perhaps even get a few ideas for Christmas as well.
This month the gallery also welcomes the work of British contemporary artist Edward Waite. Edward’s bold pieces buzz with the energy and movement of metropolitan environments. His trademark fluid style and application bring life and vitality to his work, making each painting a statement piece. Even as a young artist he has already achieved several sell-out exhibitions, and his work continues to be sought after by collectors and galleries alike.
Finally, after much anticipation, the gallery is proud to announce that our annual Edward Hersey and Gordon Lees Exhibition opens later this month. The exhibition will officially open on Friday, the 20th of November and run until Sunday, the 6th of December; but for those eager to catch the first glimpse, the gallery will be open for a preview on Thursday, the 19th of November from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Preview catalogues will also be available during opening week, so do let us know if you would like to receive a copy.
Until then, we wish you the best, and look forward to seeing you soon.
Yours faithfully,
The Directors at York Fine Arts.
