This month, the gallery is proud to announce the arrival of two exceptional contemporary artists, Angela Lyons and Michael John Ashcroft. Both artists demonstrate outstanding talent and ability, making them exciting additions to the contemporary collection at York Fine Arts. Angela Lyons has recently been described as "one of the hottest properties in the art market today", and creates bold pieces full of intensity, narrative and emotion. A formidable force in the contemporary art scene, Angela has a remarkable ability to find and capture the beauty of daily life. ‘It’s Such A Perfect Day’ (pictured left) instantly warms and provides a swift, satisfying indulgence in the simple pleasure of an afternoon by the sea.

We also extend a warm welcome to contemporary artist Michael John Ashcroft. His work is fuelled by his fascination with light and shadow, and has been praised by noted art critic David Lee. Michael has gained much recognition in his career, achieving membership to the prestigious Manchester Academy of Fine Art, as well as the Royal Society of British Artists and Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
