With the first blossoms and buds of spring now delightfully unfurling around us, we send our brightest greetings to you all. As we burst forth into this next season of growth, we could not think of a more fitting opportunity to share our latest updates with you all. From an outstanding selection of fresh acquisitions to exciting new spaces and website features, this month’s newsletter delightfully unveils the latest goings on here at the gallery.
It is with great pride and excitement that we re-open our recently renovated contemporary space on the top floor of the gallery. From bright, impressionistic landscapes to bold, abstract statement pieces, our contemporary collection now feels more at home than ever in its thoughtfully curated surroundings. Details of an official launch of the space will be shared in due course. But in the meantime, we very much hope you will come and enjoy all that this new space has to offer.
The gallery’s first exhibition of the year continues to run this month, bringing together a dynamic, mixed selection of work that highlights the cycles, phases, growth and renewal of a world in perpetual motion. Featuring original paintings and sculpture from artists including Andrew Grant Kurtis, Philip Hearsey and Terry Evans, the exhibition explores the subtle rhythms that govern the land, providing a new perspective and deeper connection to the landscape. If you have not yet had the chance to view the collection, do visit the gallery or view the exhibition online to immerse yourself in a show perfectly suited for these early days of spring.
Our most keen collectors will be familiar with the gallery’s preview catalogues, released a few days before some of our most highly anticipated exhibitions to give both a first look at a show’s collection and the first opportunity to buy. While in the past, registering to receive these preview catalogues was often linked to our newsletter or a gallery visit, we are delighted to announce that collectors are now able to register for preview catalogues directly from our website at any time. Simply scroll through our exhibition programme and request to receive any available preview catalogues that strike your fancy. So whether your favourite exhibitions are six days or six months away, getting the first look (and pick!) of a collection has never been easier.
The gallery blooms with the bright colours and bold energy of new artwork from artists including Rupert Aker, Alex Hill, Raymond Campbell, Jay Nottingham, Natalie Stutely, Stephen Hawkins, Andrew Grant Kurtis, Steve Thoms, Stephen Park, Alan Smith, Carl Whitfield, Michael Simpson and Philip Hearsey. Our latest collection has breathed new life into the gallery, reminding once us again of both the power and pleasure of quality fine art. Take a look at our Recently Acquired page to view these latest additions, and remember to check back over the course of the month to get the first look at any new work to arrive.
We hope you will enjoy our March Newsletter. As ever, we thank you for your patronage and look forward to welcoming you to the gallery soon.
