As spring delightfully hovers on the horizon, we send our warmest greetings to you all. Natalie Stutely’s newest painting is a welcome beacon of hope for brighter days to come, its dramatic, glowing skyline full of promise and possibility. With rolling, verdant hills and an overarching sense of pastoral peace, ‘Swaledales at Gunnerside’ hypnotically lulls the viewer into a relaxed plane of being from the very first glance.
Later this month, the gallery is thrilled to be opening its newest exhibition, ‘Breaking Free’. Bringing together a chromatic collection of wild, uninhibited paintings by Terence Clarke, Julian Mason and Terry Evans, 'Breaking Free' celebrates bright and bold new beginnings in an unrestrained natural world. Exploding with colour and movement, the gallery’s spring show is guaranteed to energise and electrify collectors of contemporary art. The exhibition opens on Friday, the 1st of April and runs until Sunday, the 1st of May, but will also be available to view online for those unable to make a visit to the gallery.
As we shift our focus and explore our own new horizons, we share the announcement that York Fine Arts has now officially closed its Harrogate branch. With the continued success of our York gallery, even in the face of the pandemic, we are now in the process of finding and purchasing our own, larger property here in York. While we work to find the right fit for our vision, we will be repurposing some of our existing space so we can continue to reach new heights and provide our clients with the very best experience, selection—and of course—fine art. So while Harrogate has served us well these past five years, we are immensely excited to be entering this next, inspiring chapter of opportunity.
In addition to Natalie Stutely's newest painting, this month the gallery has acquired an exciting new collection of over twenty new paintings from our network of artists, including Raymond Campbell, Gordon Lees, Terry Evans, Amanda Jackson, Chris Parsons, Terry Grundy, Jay Nottingham, Alex Hill and Edward Hersey. Visit our Recently Acquired page to browse these new additions to the gallery’s collection and discover your next masterpiece.
