As the longer days begin to stretch out before us, we look excitedly towards the approach of spring and with it, an abundance of new life. What better way to observe this coming season of renewal, than Carl Whitfield’s exquisitely realised ‘Blue Tit’? With his shining eyes and distinguished plumage, this little native of the British Isles is brought to life with such precision, that you may be forgiven for believing he could flit away in the blink of an eye.
This month sees the continuation of our newest online exhibition, A Room With a View, having ran from Friday 19th February and coming to an end on Sunday, 21st March. In it, we bring together a collection of original paintings that bridge the gap between the intimacy of our interior lives and the natural brilliance that lies just beyond our doorsteps. Featuring artists such as Mike Hall and Terry Grundy, the exhibition offers a warming and poignant selection of artwork to savour.
Finally, this month the gallery has acquired new work by Sean Durkin, Carl Whitfield and Terence Clarke. With new paintings arriving throughout the month, please be sure to visit our Recently Acquired page to browse the gallery’s latest arrivals, from traditional to contemporary, from seascapes to the splendour of the Yorkshire Dales.
We look forward to welcoming you to our galleries soon.
