In the bright, happy blaze of a new dawn, we send our warmest greetings to you all. As restrictions begin to ease, we find ourselves experiencing almost childlike joy at the return of simple things we so often took for granted. If any artist can capture that feeling in a single artwork, it is surely Amanda Jackson. Playfully and tenderly exploring the themes of childhood and nostalgia, Amanda shines a spotlight on the often overlooked moments and memories we hold most dear. ‘Day at the Seaside’ is just one such triumph, gracefully redirecting our attention to a single, precious moment of perfection and wonder.

This month, after much anticipation, we are positively delighted to announce that our York gallery will be re-opening to the public on Monday, the 15th of June. We have dearly missed our sea of visitors and clients these past two months, and very much look forward to welcoming you all back to the gallery once again. Details of our Harrogate gallery’s re-opening will be released in due course; so please do continue to check updates on our website.

In addition to the implementation of numerous safety measures at our physical galleries, we have expanded and adapted our services so we may continue to offer the highest standards of service in a safe and controlled manner. It is therefore with great pleasure that we have resumed our contact-free home viewing service. We are also now offering additional private appointments for those who wish to make a visit to the gallery in person, but who may prefer the added safety and comfort of an exclusive setting. Spaces are already filling up; so please do contact the gallery early to book your home viewing or private appointment.

In other exciting news, it is with great delight that our York gallery prepares for next month’s launch of our annual Clare Haley exhibition. The exhibition opens on Friday, the 31st of July and runs until Sunday, the 23rd of August. However, as one of the gallery’s most highly anticipated exhibitions, an early viewing is highly recommended to avoid disappointment. 

With quite a selection of new artwork expected to arrive in the coming weeks, we would heartily encourage you to continue to check our Recently Acquired page throughout the month to get a first look at these exciting new additions.
