In the blink of an eye, we find ourselves on the edge of summer once more, eagerly awaiting its bounty of simple pleasures. For the plump, juicy berries of the season, we need look no further than Spanish artist Javier Mulio’s delectable new painting, ‘Red Wine and Ripened Fruits’. From the coarse, yet delicate pistils of tart raspberries to the smooth, golden sheen of polished china, this sumptuous still life bursts with tantalising flavours and textures, making it a feast for both the eyes and the palette.
Regarded as one of the finest still life artists of our time, Javier Mulio is one of the newest artists to join York Fine Arts. Full of fine, photorealistic detail, Javier’s exquisite paintings demonstrate not only acute observation and unparalleled technical skill; but furthermore, a devoted passion for life’s elegant, yet simple pleasures. With a fiercely loyal, global following that continues to grow, Javier has firmly established himself as one of the most collectible still life artists of today. Do take a moment to visit his artist page to find out more and see his available work.
At our Harrogate gallery, we continue to welcome visitors to our newest exhibition, ‘Country Pursuits’. Exploring a contemporary take on a traditional lifestyle, the exhibition combines the work of British painter Stephen Hawkins with British sculptor Michael Simpson to celebrate the unique heritage and culture of the great British countryside. A show not to be missed, the exhibition runs until Sunday, the 16th of June and will also be available to view on our website.
Additionally, it is with great excitement that our York gallery prepares for next month’s opening of our annual Clare Haley exhibition, 'Clare Haley: Light of Yorkshire'. The exhibition opens on Friday, the 26th of July and runs until Sunday, the 18th of August. However, as one of the gallery’s most highly anticipated exhibitions, an early viewing is highly recommended to avoid disappointment. Preview catalogues will also be available upon request; so do register your interest with a member of staff should you wish to have a first look at the collection.
In addition to new work by Javier Mulio, this month the gallery also received new work by Terry Evans and Sanit Phokrachang, and is also expecting new work by Sean Durkin, Stuart Herod and Tina Spratt to arrive in the coming weeks. Be sure to check our Recently Acquired page throughout the month to keep an eye out for these exciting new additions.
We wish you the best, and look forward to welcoming you to our galleries soon.
