As the days become longer, it becomes pleasantly obvious that summer swiftly approaches. Edward Hersey’s elegantly subtle ‘Cotswolds Farm’, oil on canvas (pictured left) is a perfect representation of the season, full of warm light, cool shadows and lush greenery. Framed by the shade of overhanging trees, the sun-drenched farm becomes a cherished oasis of British pastoralism.
This month the gallery also received new work by Raymond Campbell, Gordon Lees, Angela Lyons, Terry Evans and two new bold, contemporary pieces by Jay Nottingham. Take a look at our Recently Acquired page to view and fully appreciate the new artworks available to purchase.
Finally, we are pleased to announce that on the 25th of June, York Fine Arts will open our inaugural online exhibition. The regular programme of online exhibitions will present opportunities to view thematic collections of available work, providing a more saturated experience with the artworks both individually and collectively. The online Summer Exhibition will open on the 25th at noon, so be sure to view early to avoid disappointment.
We send you our very best wishes, and look forward to seeing you at the gallery soon.
