With the long, luxurious days of summer stretched out before us, we send our warmest greetings to you all. Announcing the season with a golden burst of sunlight, Clare Haley’s ‘Spirit of Yorkshire’ sees the parting of a tempestuous sky and a luminous trail emerging in the valley below. The light blooms and weaves through the landscape, revealing lush green grasslands and distant blue hills. A celebration of Yorkshire’s rich natural heritage, Clare’s commanding panorama offers a scene of universal beauty.
It is with pleasure and great anticipation that we see the opening of Clare Haley’s seventh annual solo exhibition later this month, ‘Clare Haley: Light of Yorkshire’. From rolling, verdant dales to dark, ominous skies, Clare once more weaves a narrative of the changeable northern landscape as it responds to light and the elements. The exhibition opens on Friday the 29th of July and runs until Sunday the 21st of August. An unmissable show for collectors, admirers and newcomers alike, we highly recommend an early viewing to avoid disappointment. For first choice of Clare's new collection, request a preview catalogue now.
In other news, be sure to catch the final days of our Summer Exhibition, which comes to an end on Sunday the 10th of July. Featuring a hand-picked choice selection of our summer favourites, the show encapsulates the sumptuous quality of the season; a bounty of simple pleasures and sun-soaked escapes.
Finally, this month the gallery is pleased to have received new work by Raymond Campbell, Amanda Jackson, Alex Hill, Andrew Grant Kurtis, Terry Evans and Richard Telford. Keep a lookout for new arrivals throughout the month, by visiting our Recently Acquired page.
