After a rather wet and windy start, the beloved days of summer have finally arrived with a long-overdue flourish. Yorkshire artist Clare Haley’s new painting extends the warmest of welcomes, its soft, verdant hills gently beckoning and begging to be explored. A classic representation of Clare’s timeless work, ‘Nature’s Own Pathways’ gracefully bridges the gap between representation and abstract imagination, bringing the landscape to life in a brilliant spectrum of light.
After much anticipation, this month the gallery officially opens its annual Clare Haley exhibition, ‘Clare Haley: Light of Yorkshire’. A show not to be missed, the exhibition showcases a spellbinding collection of Clare’s paintings that magnificently articulate the raw, dramatic beauty of landscape and light. The exhibition opens at our York gallery on Friday, the 26th of July and runs until Sunday, the 18th of August 2019. Preview catalogues will also be available upon request; so be sure to register your interest with a member of gallery staff if you have not done so already.
Hand in hand with Clare Haley’s exhibition comes other exceptionally exciting news: to celebrate the opening of her exhibition, this year the gallery will be hosting a ‘Meet the Artist’ event on Saturday the 27th of July. From 11:30am-2:00pm, visitors will have the chance to meet Clare and discuss the exhibition, her work, her inspiration and her life as a professional artist. While there is no need to RSVP, we would highly encourage collectors to mark their calendars early so as not to miss this incredibly special opportunity.
Finally, this month the gallery is thrilled to have received a collection of new paintings from Terry Grundy, Sean Durkin, Stuart Herod, Alex Hill, Richard Telford and Raymond Campbell, with more due to arrive from Amanda Jackson, Javier Mulio, Tina Spratt and Jacqueline Gaylard in the coming weeks. Be sure to check our Recently Acquired page throughout the month to ensure you have the first look at these exciting new arrivals. But as always, please feel free to register your interest with a member of staff if you would like to be personally notified of any specific new arrivals of interest.
We wish you the best and look forward to welcoming you to our galleries soon.
