At the dawn of a bright new decade, we look forward to another exciting year of fine art. Cheerfully sending us into 2020 is Wayne Westwood’s delightful robin redbreast, the star of his newest painting, ‘First Frost’. Calming, familiar and elegantly composed, Wayne’s painting greets us as an old friend, making it the perfect antidote for a winter’s chill.
This month our York gallery proudly opened its Winter Exhibition, which aims to bring a bit of much-needed warmth and light to these brisk winter days. A mixed show of work from some of the gallery’s favourite artists, the exhibition celebrates the softer side of winter, celebrating the quiet splendour and beauty that can be found even in the harshest of climes. The exhibition runs until Sunday, the 16th of February and will also be available to view online.
At our Harrogate branch, we continue to operate under winter hours. For January, this means the gallery opens every Saturday from 10:00am-5:00pm. While in February, these hours will extend to Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with the gallery closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays. If you wish to make an appointment outside of these hours, please contact a member of our friendly and accommodating staff. Alternatively, please feel free to visit our York gallery, which remains open seven days a week, Monday to Saturday from 9:30am-5:30pm and Sundays from 10:00am-5:00pm.
We send our very best wishes for a happy and prosperous 2020 and look forward to welcoming you to our galleries soon.
