We hope that you have enjoyed the festivities of the Christmas season and are comfortably settling into 2016. We would like to begin by taking a moment to thank you for your custom this past year. Your patronage of the arts helps to support some of the very best artists practicing today. So on behalf of ourselves and the artists we represent, we thank you.
In 2015 the gallery proudly welcomed a number of incredibly talented artists, including: Clare Haley, Michael John Ashcroft, Edward Waite, Leon Leigh and our most recent artist, Sean Durkin. Son of the man who infamously stole a Lowry painting for ransom, Sean’s Lowry-inspired work reflects his own story with ironic genius. Sean and our other new artists have truly enriched this year's collection, so we thouroughly look forward to welcoming the artwork of even more artists to the gallery in 2016.
Recently, the gallery has acquired additional paintings by Edward Hersey, Raymond Campbell, Terry Evans and Jay Nottingham. We will be receiving a few other new pieces throughout the month, so be sure to keep checking our Recently Acquired page for the most up-to-date arrivals.
We send our very best wishes for a happy and prosperous new year ahead. We look forward to welcoming you to the gallery soon.
Yours faithfully,
The Directors of York Fine Arts
