With the festive season now on our doorstep, the gallery excitedly raises a glass to the joyful days ahead. Scottish still life artist Colin Wilson has lent his masterful hand to the cause with his new painting, ‘Sparkling Rosé and Strawberries’. A young artist full of potential and promise, the gallery’s newest artist demonstrates exceptional vision and dexterity well beyond his years, making him one of the most exciting new artists to emerge in the country’s contemporary art market. Since being selected for the Royal Scottish Academy’s New Contemporaries exhibition in 2011, Colin has been hailed as ‘one to watch’ and his work has become a firm favourite of still life collectors around the world. December also sees the continuation of the gallery’s annual Edward Hersey and Gordon Lees exhibition. With an impressive collection of both original paintings and exclusive signed limited edition prints, the exhibition is a highlight of the York Fine Arts exhibition programme. The exhibition is on show at our York gallery until Sunday the 15th of December and is also available to view online; but naturally, we would highly encourage a visit to the gallery in person to view the collection in its full, festive splendour.

In preparation for the Christmas season, this month the gallery is thrilled to release two new signed limited edition prints by Steve Thoms: ‘Yorkshire Poppies’ and ‘Poppy Field, Yorkshire Dales’. Bright, bold and delightfully local, each print is published in an edition of 65 exclusive to York Fine Arts. In addition to these prints, the gallery also received original work by Colin Wilson, Alex Hill, Raymond Campbell, Ken Hammond, Jay Nottingham, Amanda Jackson, Steve Thoms and Daniel Van der Putten, so be sure to visit our Recently Acquired page to discover your next masterpiece--or perhaps find the perfect gift for a fellow collector.

Finally, if you are hoping for deliveries in time for Christmas, the last day for domestically shipped orders from both York Fine Arts and our London dealership, The Colomb Art Gallery, will be Thursday the 19th of December. The last day for international orders will be Monday, the 16th of December. For those wishing to collect or purchase directly from our York or Harrogate galleries, you may do so up until Monday the 3rd of December at 5:00pm at our Harrogate gallery and up until noon on Tuesday the 24th of December at our York gallery.
