As the days grow shorter and our festive anticipation grows, we send our warmest tidings to you all. Gordon Lees’ new painting ‘A Starry Cotswolds Eve’ is a true triumph for the season, its kaleidoscope of light gracefully piercing through even the coldest of winter nights. With such striking displays of mastery, it comes as no surprise that Lees’ collectors have zealously awarded him the title of ‘Original Master of Light’.
December also sees the continuation of the gallery’s annual Edward Hersey and Gordon Lees exhibition. With a carefully curated collection of over forty paintings by two of the country’s leading landscape artists, the exhibition is a hallmark of the York Fine Arts exhibition programme not to be missed. The exhibition runs online and at our York gallery until Sunday the 16th of December; but if possible, we would highly encourage collectors to make a visit to the gallery in person to view the collection in its full, festive splendour.
In preparation for the Christmas season, this month the gallery also received a range of magnificent new work from Edward Hersey, Raymond Campbell, Terry Evans, Howard Shingler, Suzie Emery, Stephen Hawkins, Terry Grundy and Natalie Stutely. The gallery will also be receiving a few more additions over the course of the month, so be sure to visit our Recently Acquired page to discover your next masterpiece--or perhaps find the perfect gift for a fellow collector.
This Christmas, York Fine Arts has made giving the gift of fine art easier than ever before. Thanks to payment structures such as Own Art and Set Aside, clients can now spread the cost of a purchase, either through Own Art’s interest free loans and 10-month repayment plan, or alternatively, through the gallery’s own Set Aside scheme, making the process of buying fine art more affordable. In addition, the gallery is also pleased to offer gift vouchers, which offer a convenient alternative for those seeking a bit more flexibility. For more information about gift vouchers, Set Aside or the Own Art Scheme, contact the gallery for more details.
Finally, if you are hoping for deliveries in time for Christmas, the last day for domestically shipped orders from both York Fine Arts and our London dealership, The Colomb Art Gallery, will be Wednesday the 19th of December. The last day for international orders will be Monday, the 17th of December. For those wishing to collect or purchase directly from our York or Harrogate galleries, you may do so up until Saturday the 22nd of December at 5:00pm at our Harrogate gallery and up until noon on Monday the 24th of December at our York gallery.
We wish you all the very best this Christmas and look forward to welcoming you to our galleries soon.
