December brings the joyous Christmas season and with it, the gift of new artwork. Our Edward Hersey collectors will no doubt be spellbound by his newest piece, 'Winter Warmth' (pictured left). The harsh, barren trees of winter are swiftly overcome by Hersey's trademark luminious light, billowing chimneys and soft banks of snow. In one magnificent painting, Hersey graciously reminds us of the triumphant pleasures of the season.
In addition to 'Winter Wamth', this month the gallery also received work by Terry Evans, Les Spence, Carl Whitfield and three breath taking paintings by Yorkshire artist Clare Haley. Be sure to take a look at our Recently Acquired page to have a look for yourself or perhaps for a loved one. 'Tis the season, after all.
If you have not yet had the chance to visit our Edward Hersey and Gordon Lees exhibition, it is not too late. The exhibition runs until Sunday, the 6th of December, so do drop by the gallery or view the online exhibition to see the very best these two artists have to offer.
Finally, if you are hoping for deliveries in time for Christmas, the last day for shipped orders from both York Fine Arts and our London dealership, The Colomb Art Gallery, will be Friday, the 18th of December. For those wishing to collect directly from the gallery, you may purchase or collect artwork at any time before Thursday, the 24th of December at noon.
We wish you the best this festive season, and look forward to welcoming you to the gallery soon.
Yours faithfully,
The Directors of York Fine Arts
