As the height of summer shines down upon us once again, we brightly extend our warmest greetings to you all. We hope you are enjoying the new look of our email newsletter, which has been recently redesigned to make engaging with our collection easier and more enjoyable than ever. From the finest new arrivals to exciting announcements, events and exhibitions, our monthly newsletter will continue to highlight the very best the gallery has to offer. If you have not subscribed already, you can do so here.
After a fantastic opening, Yorkshire artist Clare Haley’s highly anticipated annual solo show continues to awe and inspire, seamlessly immersing viewers into the wilds of the northern landscape. The show runs umtil Sunday, the 21st of August, so if you have not yet had a chance to see the show, there is still time yet. For those unable to make a visit to the gallery, the collection also remains available to view online.
Next month the gallery will unveil its newest exhibition, 'Masters of Perspective: Colin Wilson and Tina Spratt', a mixed show of paintings and pastels by still life artist Colin Wilson and figurative artist Tina Spratt. Two exceptional contemporary artists making their mark on their respective genres, Colin and Tina apply their acute observation and insightful precision to reveal new truths and captivate the senses. From redefined realities to rich and essential incarnations of the female gaze, visitors are invited to view the world through fresh and inquisitive eyes, challenging the assumptions of our everyday perspectives. The exhibition opens on Friday, the 16th of September and runs until Sunday, the 16th of October. Preview catalogues will also be available upon request; so be sure to register your interest with a member of gallery staff to get the first look at the collection.
In addition to our exhibition news, this month also brings plenty of new arrivals, with new work from Stuart Herod, Carl Whitfield, Edward Hersey, Alex Hill, Jay Nottingham, Richard Telford and Raymond Campbell now gracing the walls of the gallery. As ever, we thank you for your patronage and look forward to welcoming you to the gallery soon.
