With the welcome rays of summer sun warming our skin, we look forward to the bright days of August ahead. With this in mind, we readily embrace the transportive power of Stephen Park’s magnificent ‘Elephant Mother and Calf’. As the calf looks out cautiously from the shadow of his mother, the tender relationship between the pair is evident. So too is the extraordinary detail of the painting, with the light of the African Plains highlighting every muscle and intended motion of these two gentle giants.
Following a triumphant opening weekend, Yorkshire artist Clare Haley’s highly anticipated sixth solo exhibition continues to astonish and delight viewers, immersing them in the verdant wilds of England’s northern landscape. Clare’s breath-taking new collection offers timeless paintings that celebrate the enduring legacy and power of the land. The exhibition will run until Sunday the 22nd of August, but with demand high, we strongly recommend an early viewing to avoid disappointment.
In keeping with the spirit of the season, this month sees the opening of our annual Summer Exhibition, an exclusively online show, featuring a select choice of original paintings that best encapsulate the abundant and invigorating days of summer. A time of both adventure and relaxation, the simple pleasures of summer are here for all to enjoy. Opening on Friday the 6th of August, the exhibition will run until Sunday the 5th of September.
Finally this month, the gallery has received new work by Jay Nottingham, Andrew Grant Kurtis and Raymond Campbell.
We wish you all the very best of health and happiness and look forward to welcoming you to our galleries.
