At the height of Summer, we send our warmest greetings to you all. After much anticipation, our York gallery’s newest exhibition, ‘Clare Haley: Light of Yorkshire’, is now open and hanging in its full splendour. Timeless and atmospheric, Clare’s new collection of exclusive paintings is sure to captivate new and veteran collectors alike. The exhibition runs until Sunday, the 23rd of August; but a few pieces have already sold from the preview catalogue alone, so we would strongly advise an early viewing to avoid disappointment. For those unable to view the exhibition in person, the collection will also be available to view online.
This month York Fine Arts also welcomes the work of renowned British artist Darren Baker. One of the UK’s most collectible artists of the 21st century, Darren has an impressive list of accolades, including Official Portrait Artist to Her Majesty the Queen in 2011, Official Artist of the 2012 Olympic Games and the winner of the Garrick Prize at Christies, London. In his career, he has also been commissioned to produce portraits for HRH Prince Charles, Tony Blair and the royal family of Bahrain. His paintings remain highly sought after around the world, making each piece a prized acquisition for collectors.
In addition to Darren Baker and Clare Haley’s new paintings, the gallery has also received work from Edward Hersey, Michael John Ashcroft, Terry Grundy, Gordon Lees, Terry Evans, Sean Durkin, Amanda Jackson, Stephen Hawkins, Alan Smith, Stephen Park and Jay Nottingham. Do visit our Recently Acquired page to see the newest collection of fine art to arrive at the gallery and keep up-to-date throughout the month.
We wish you the best, and look forward to welcoming you to our galleries soon.
Yours faithfully,
The Directors at York Fine Arts

Michael’s work is truthful, painted with astounding precision and clarity. While many modern landscape artists can sometimes over-romanticise or exaggerate, Smith’s applied restraint allows the country’s natural beauty to speak for itself. With such a unique style that appeals to a wide variety of collectors, demand for Michael’s work is positively insatiable.
